The Panasonic VIERA Series TC-L32X1 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV packs quite a lot in a small package.  At 32 inches, it’s one of the smaller LCD televisions that you can buy.  But,it’s also one of the cheaper LCD televisions at around $500.  Yet, for the size and price, it’s quite a nice machine.

First of all, this VIERA comes with a universal IPod docking station.  So, you can hook up your IPod and play music and videos on your television.  And, according to many IPhone users, you can also successfully attach your IPhone to this docking station and play music and videos off of it despite the fact that it’s not supposed to be compatible.

Besides being able to hook up your IPod, you can also take your SD card out of your digital video camera or digital camera and put it into the SD slot on the television.  The VIERA Image Viewer then allows you to view your photos and videos in high definition.  Plus, you can directly access the Image Viewer from the remote control, making it easier than ever to share your home movies and vacation photos with family and friends.

For a smaller television, its contrast ratio is higher than many of these types of televisions (12,000:1).  This makes the blacks in the picture darker than most television pictures in this price range.  What’s even better about this model is the 178 degree viewing angle.  Unlike most in its class, if you sit at an angle, you can still clearly see the picture without dimming or blurring.  So, if you have a couch or chair that is off center, you’ll still be able to see the picture just as well as you would if you were right in front of the television.

Another plus for this television is that it’s relatively lightweight at 28.9 pounds so even a small person will be able to handle this television.  Its dimensions are 3.9 X 31.5 X 20.2 inches so it can practically fit in any room that you have.

Also, since this is an LCD television, you can put it in a bright kitchen or patio and don’t have to worry about glare diminishing the view.  It’s also backlit so to improve the overall quality of the picture.  For a lower-end television, it also has a decent surround sound system so you won’t have to go buy a new home theater surround sound system if you don’t want to.

It’s Energy Star rated and has a few different modes to help you use less energy, including the Eco Mode and Standby Power Save along with a Auto Power Standby mode in case of a power outage.  It also comes with a timer, meaning you can set the television to come on at a certain time and shut off at a certain time.

This television is great for kids because it has a three HDMI inputs and one PC input so you’re able to hook up a variety of devices to it.  It also has a Gaming Mode, which helps improves the look and color of games on the television.

Possibly the best feature about this television is the remote control.  It’s easy to use.  In fact, you probably won’t have to read every detail in the manual.  You can control all devices that are compatible with the television, including your DVD player, home theater sound system and camcorder.  It responds very well to touch with little to no delay.  The features are also easy to find and use with this remote.

The only major drawback to this model is that it only comes in black like almost every other lower-end television.  But, this tends to show dust and dirt more than a grey television would.

While your plasma television may have a better picture overall, the size, maneuverability, cost and weight make this television well worth the price.  Overall, this is a great, quality machine that can be used in any area of the house.
