If you’re looking for a big, beautiful, quality television, then the Samsung 52″ LN52A650 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV maybe just for what you’re seeking. 

The LN52A650 is a beautiful television with true 1080p HD quality.  Samsung has come out with their Touch of Color Bezel coloring effect.  Basically, they used technology from the car industry to create black televisions that have a touch of some other color, generally red or charcoal, in it.  This makes for a very sleek look that will still fit in with any décor.

The 52 inch screen is definitely not light at 66.4 pounds.  Its dimensions are 50.2 X 4.1 X 31.7 inches.  It has quite a few really nice features, including 4 HDMI ports, meaning that you can hook up a variety of devices to this television.  It has also one of the highest contrast ratios that can be found: 50,000:1.  This makes colors pop, and the blacks in your television deeper than ever before.

This model is also faster than a lot of the other televisions on the market and even previous Samsung models.  It has a 4ms response time, down from 8ms on 2007 models.  With 178 degree viewing angle, the television can be placed almost anywhere in a room.  Basically this means that if you’re seating area is not dead middle, it won’t matter.  People viewing the television from the site will still be able to see a clear, sharp image without blurring or graininess.

The Auto Motion Plus 120Hz is great because it increases your frame rate, or frames (video clips) per second, from 60 to 120.  This will make motion look better because you won’t get repeating frames, and the transitions between frames will look seamless.

You also don’t have to worry about bad light reflection with this model.  There’s a little, but nothing terribly distracting.  So, you would be able to watch television in even the sunniest rooms with a ton of windows and room lighting.  This is due to a new anti-glare shield, which diffuses exterior light better.

Another great feature of this television is that it uses Cold Cathode Florescent Lamp backlights.  This means that you will see more true and vibrant colors.  The television responds to motion very well.  And, the AMP feature gives you more realistic, almost soap-opera like reality in movies.  Many people see this feature as a drawback, but it’s actually makes you feel like you are part of the movie action.

Speaking of action, this television comes with a Sports and Gaming mode.  For anyone who’s interested in playing video games on the television or watching sporting events, this will enhance the look and feel of those.

The LN52A650 also has a plus that it already comes with a swivel stand, which will allow you to adjust the television should you have to.  The Series 7 features very interactive content, including pre-loaded recipes and entertainment for the kids.

Samsung did have a problem with this model before a recent firmware update.  The television would turn off once or twice when you first started it.  Or, once it was warmed up, it would shut off as much as 10 times an hour.  The firmware update has taken care of this issue.  If you should buy this model and it has this problem, just contact Samsungs technical support, and they will send you the patch to fix this problem.

Overall, the only major drawback is the price.  It’s pretty expensive, but well-worth the investment.  It has a lot of great features, and the picture quality cannot be beat. This television is definitely a great buy.
